Final, style has no age, Tricks Exposed
100-Year-Old Model Proves Style Is Ageless In Vogue Magazine | WSFM101.7
A glorious gran has made fashion history by becoming the oldest model to feature in Vogue Magazine.
Bo Gilbert, from Birmingham, was chosen to mark Vogue’s 100th anniversary in a brand new Harvey Nichols’ SS16 campaign. The 100-year-old woman was scouted by a casting agent in the local paper. Bo, who STILL never leaves the house without her heels and makeup, was picked for her unwavering commitment to fashion.
‘I do things that I think a lot of people wouldn’t do at my age,’ Bo says. ‘I always like to keep myself looking quite decent, even if I wasn’t going out. I try to keep the standards up.’.
Bo was shot by renowned fashion photographer Phil Poynter, who has worked for brands like Prada, Louis Vuitton and Lacoste. A video from the shoot shows Bo wearing Valentino glasses, a hot pink coat from Dries Van Noten and Celine flats.

Well done Bo, we’re pleased to see ageism is going out of fashion!
Isn’t this great news? It is in the reach of us all to grow old gracefully and still look good at any age. We just have to look after ourselves and you should start if you haven’t already, even if you are still in your teens.
It doesn’t matter what age you are, you are not too young or too old to start taking care of yourself. Please, don’t have an attitude of….”oh, I am already looking old, so why should I bother to start now” ….or perhaps….”I am still young and have many years ahead of me to start thinking about taking care of my skin”.
Respect and admiration for all the mothers and grand mothers who are setting a good example for their children. Bo Gilbert is most certainly setting an example for many younger women.
A few very simple points to remember to make sure you look good at any age…..or it will most certainly help!
The NUMBER ONE rule to remember for protecting your skin, is to try to stay out of the sun between 11am and 2pm and always wear a good sunblock.
Always moisturize the whole body after you had a bath or shower. The skin is then soft and still warm and will absorb any moisture much easier. In winter, it may even be necessary to apply additional lotion on your skin during the day.
Exfoliate your skin at least once a week. It will get rid of all dead skin and your skin will be much softer. You don’t have to use the most expensive products on the market. You may even want to experiment with products from your own kitchen. -We’ll add a few natural home recipes for you at the end of this article!
Make sure you get enough sleep and be sure that your bedroom has enough fresh air. If there is not enough fresh air in your room, believe me, you won’t sleep well and may end up with a headache. Avoid consuming any caffeine before you go to sleep as well. Take a bath or shower before you go to bed, you’ll automatically feel more relaxed and fall asleep more easy. In the book, Sleep for Success, Rebecca S. Robbins says: “During a good night’s rests, your body works to remove dead blood cells and dead brain cells and clears the pathways for new synapses to take place so that new blood and brain cells can replace the old ones”. According to Dr. James Maas, an adult needs about seven and a half to nine hours of sleep to be fully alert, energetic and dynamic all day long.
Exercise. Now you don’t have to run marathons or spend hours in the gym each day to benefit from exercise. Even if you walk a mile a day or do a combination of cardio exercises and stretches everyday for about 15 min, it will be enough to keep the blood flowing and your body releases endorphin known as the “happy hormones”. Exercise will make you sleep better at night as well and may keep you slim.
Very important is to take time off to unwind. Every person is different and each person relaxes in a different way. Only you know what it takes to make you feel relaxed and how much time you need for that. You deserve a break from time to time….make that time.
